Symptoms

When attempting to upload UTF-8 format file, the following error occurs.

Path/ABC.txt could not be opened for mode rb as a file of charset UTF8BOM (2,668) FS_MAP_PR.MAIN.GBL.default.1900-01-01.Mapper.OnExecute PCPC:2335 Statement:44
DoStepActions [2018] Exception logged: RC=100.


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Go to Set Up Financials/Supply Chain/Common Definitions/Data Export Import Utility/Map Definition - Go through all the 6 steps
  2. Go to Set Up Financials/Supply Chain/Common Definitions/Data Export Import Utility/Map Definition/Delimited File Layout - populate fields;
  3. Go to Set Up Financials/Supply Chain/Common Definitions/Data Export Import Utility/Data Export Import Request- Run FS_MAP_PR application engine process;
  4. On the Source file Tab (tab 2 of Mapper definition) UTF-8 is specified, but the process goes to No success as it expects UTF8BOM format.
