Last updated on JULY 30, 2024

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Unable to override the path defined in PS_TREEBASEDIR environment variable from Tree export process definition override tab.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1 Login to Peoplesoft Application

2. Username/password

3. Navigate to Main menu >Tree Manager >Tree Utilities >Export Tree

4. Populate Output file name, Tree Name, SetID, Effective date and check all check boxes

5. Run the process and see below Error

" Environment variable PS_TREEBASEDIR, needed to qualify a file name, is not set. (2,624) "

7. As per the new process Environment variable PS_TREEBASEDIR needed to be set and reboot the scheduler for new changes with environment variables to take

8. Ran the process and it goes to success

9. As per below note from peoplebooks link, Output location can be override from process definition override tab.

Note: When the PS_TREEBASEDIR environment variable is set, the flat file for the export process is located in %PS_TREEBASEDIR%\\OutputFilename. You can override this and create another location using the Process Definition Override page.

10. Peopletools >Process Scheduler > Process, Open the TREEMOVER process and navigate to "override options" for "Work Directory" choose override and added C:\Temp\IA_TEST_LOGS

11. Run the process again (repeat step 3 to 8) but the output file doesn't exist in the location added under process definition(as per the 10th step). It is still moving to %PS_TREEBASEDIR%\\OutputFilename.
