Symptoms

An Error Occurred When Deleting a File Attachment

ERROR

DeleteAttachment failed: Unable to login into destination system for ftp(137,18)

The DeleteAttachment() call failed because the user and password credentials used for ftp were not accepted by the file server.
Verify that the user and password credentials are correct, and try again


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1.Log into PeopleSoft demo using the PS user id.
2.Go to PeopleTools >> Utilities > Administration > URLs. Search for and open the EP_ATTACH URL definition.
3.Configure the EP_ATTACH URL definition to connect to an FTP attachment storage site (instead of the default record://PSFILE_ATTDET database storage location). Then, in URL Properties , set the FTP site user id and encrypted password.
4.Go to PeopleTools > Security > User Profiles. Activate the user account and reset the password for any EMPLOYEE.
5.Log out and log back in as any EMPLOYEE.
6.Perform the following navigation: Manager Self Service -> Team Performance. Open the Performance Improvement Plan for any user .
7.Scroll to the bottom of the review and click the Add Attachment link.
8.In the following pop-up, click the Choose File button and select a document file to attach. Then, click the Upload button.
9.The document file is successfully attached to the performance.
10.Click the testreviewattach236.txt file name link to view the attachment. The attachment opens successfully.
11.Click the delete attachment button, as follows.
12.Click OK in the following pop-up to confirm.
13.The attachment record is deleted.
14.To delete the performance review document file attachment that was associated with the deleted record in the prior step, click the performance review Save button in the upper right corner.
