E-PUM/DPK: Deployment Fails with Error Message: “block in install_oracle_home” when Deploying Native OS Windows PeopleSoft Update Images with PeopleTools 8.59 (Doc ID 2805939.1)

Symptoms

This article applies to the Native OS Windows version of the PeopleSoft Update Images (PIs) for PUM on PeopleTools 8.59.

When you install on a drive other than C:, the deployment may fail when installing Oracle 19c Database server or client. The psft_dpk_setup_apply.log includes this error text:

Error #1:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Run the psft-dpk-setup script.

2. Exit the script by answering no to the default initialization question.

3. Create the psft_customizations.yaml file.

4. In psft_customizations.yaml, set the Oracle Database Client installation location to a location other than the C: drive.

5. Save and place psft_customizations.yaml as directed in the documentation.

6. Run the Puppet Apply command to continue the deployment with customizations.

7. The error occurs when deploying the Oracle Home folder.
