Health Savings Account Plan Card Status Does Not Update When an Employee Changes from Family Coverage to Employee Only Coverage on the Controlling Medical HDHP Plan (Doc ID 2815888.1)

Symptoms

A Cross Plan validation is setup with an HDHP Medical Plan and a Health Savings Account Plan. An employee selects family coverage for the Medical HDHP, then selects an Health Savings Account Plan. If the employee immediately returns to the HDHP Medical Plan card to change from family coverage to employee only coverage, the Health Savings Account Plan card is not updated to an error status and no cross plan validation message is issued.



STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Enroll in a Medical HDHP Family coverage (Navigation: Employee Self Service > Benefit Details > Benefits Enrollment).
2. Go to HSA Card and enter the Maximum Annual Contribution.
3. Go back to the Medical HDHP plan and change the coverage from Family to EE Only coverage.
4. The HSA plan card status doesn’t update after user has made changes to a controlling Medical HDHP Plan.
