EGFL 9.2: Budget Definition Parent/Child Checking of Blank/Optional Chartfield Does not Find Correct Parent and Errors with "Parent Budget Does Not Exist" When Posting Budget Journal (Doc ID 2818013.1)

Symptoms

Budget Definition Parent/Child Checking of Blank/Optional Chartfield Does Not Find Correct Parent and errors when posting budget journal

Steps

1) Copy CC_FUND tree under Set ID FEDRL to Set ID Share) (Tree Manager -> Tree Manager)

2) Use existing Parent Budget Definition CC_COMBO - include Fund code as optional chartfield (Commitment Control -> Define Control Budgets -> Budget Definitions)

3) Use existing child Budget Definition CC_COMBO2 - include Fund code as optional chartfield (Commitment Control -> Define Control Budgets -> Budget Definitions)

4) Enable KK for US001 and specify the ledger groups as shown (Setup Financials/Supply Chain -> Business Unit Related -> General Ledger -> Ledger for a Unit)

5) Enter Budget journal for child Budget. Make sure to select “Generate Parent Budget” checkbox.  On the Budget Lines tab - leave optional chartfield Fund blank (Commitment Control -> Budget Journals -> Enter Budget Journals) 

6) Post Journal  - journal goes to error
