EPY: W-4 PDF - Maryland(MD) State Tax Form via the Fluid Updateable Tax Withholding Feature Does Not Allow for Employee to Fill Out Exempt on Line 4 if Exempt on Line 6 or 7 (Doc ID 2822807.1)

Symptoms

If the employee is filling out exempt for line 6 or line 7 on the Maryland(MD) W-4 PDF form, it requires them to fill out Exempt on line 4.
The form currently provided in the template for Maryland currently does not allow this so if attempting to fill this out:
1) The form does not allow a user to specify exempt on more than one line and
2) If exempt is specified on line 4 the template requires a state to be specified, which works filled in only on Line 4, but not when in conjunction with Line 6 or Line 7 being filled in as exempt.

If the user enters all expected exemptions on Line 4 and Line 6 or 7, see this error Message appear as a Pop-up on the Adobe form:
    Attention: A validation error was detected with the data you entered.
                   The information you entered has not been saved.
                   Please correct the following entries and submit your data again.
                   Error: To claim exemption from  withholding on line 4, you must check either District of Columbia, Virginia, or West Virginia.
                   Error: You have selected multiple personal exemption options. Only one personal exemption option is allowed.

Workaround: Fill in line 6 or 7 without line 4.



STEPS to REPRODUCE

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Self-service employee updates W-4 for MD
  - Navigation: Employee Self Service, Payroll Tile, Tax Withholding Tile, choose State
2. PDF form for Maryland (MD) opens and the employee attempts to enter Exempt for line 4 and line 6
3. Error Message appears as a Pop-up on the Adobe form:
    Attention: A validation error was detected with the data you entered.
                   The information you entered has not been saved.
                   Please correct the following entries and submit your data again.
                   Error: To claim exemption from  withholding on line 4, you must check either District of Columbia, Virginia, or West Virginia.
                   Error: You have selected multiple personal exemption options. Only one personal exemption option is allowed.
