Symptoms
XMLP W2 does not include Box 12 Overflow
We are testing 2021 W-2 XMLP printing and see that and employee has 5 entries for Box 12. The W-2 form has a place for 4 entries so we are expecting an "overflow" W-2 for the fifth Box 12 entry. The XML generated for the employee contains 2 <W2_Data> element tags with the second <W2_Data> tag having the fifth Box 12 entry.
However, when viewing the generated W-2 PDF there are only 4 entries for box 12 and box 14 contains the message FED W-2 DATA IS ON SEPARATE W-2 and no separate W-2.
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. Verify that <Bug 33656660> is applied in the test environment (PeopleTools>Utilities>Administration>Updates by Update ID)
- This updates the Report Definition for PYW221S_EE with a new Effective dated row 1/2/2021 (Jan 2) and changes the template.
- Navigate to Reporting Tools > BI Publisher > Create BIP Report Definitions
- If you do not have this row in the Templates tab for PYW221S_EE, then the patch has not been applied properly.
Now that PUM Image 41 is available, the fix is delivered only via PUM Image 41/tax update 22-A.
If you have PUM Image 41 you can apply the individual patch 333656660 from there to get the latest template. This template is currently not accessible.
2. Run the TAX910LD for an employee that has 5 boxes for Box 12 (Payroll for North America>US Annual Processing>Create W-2 Data>Load Year End Data)
3. Run the Create W2 PDF (Payroll for North America>US Annual Processing>W-2 Reporting>Create W-2 PDF Forms)
4. Verify the W2 in self service only produce one form with the 4 boxes instead of 2 that shows the additional Box 12 for the test employee (Employee Self Service>Payroll>W-2/W-2c Forms
