Query of ADM_APPL_DATA and/or ADM_APPL_PROG Returns Duplicate Rows for Emplid When Preferred Name Search is Activated (Doc ID 2853751.1)

Last updated on MARCH 11, 2022

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Campus Community - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When using the new search feature 'Preferred Name Search', then creating a query using the records PS_ADM_APPL_DATA and/or PS_ ADM_APPL_PROG, if an EMPLID has defined two types of names, e.g., primary and preferred, the query results contain duplicate rows of the same EMPLID for each combination of institution/career/application number.

Each emplid is expected to only be returned once by the query, for each institution/career/application number, since there is truly only one application record for the student, and the duplicate results were not seen prior to the delivery of the Preferred Name Search option.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Set Up SACR > Install > Campus Community Installation.
  2. Under the tab 'Names/Address', enable the checkbox for 'Preferred Name Search'.
  3. Save.
  4. Navigate to Reporting Tools > Query > Query Manager.
  5. Create a new query, using the records PS_ADM_APPL_DATA and/or PS_ADM_APPL_PROG.
  6. Run the query.
  7. Query results contain duplicate rows, where the emplid is listed twice for each institution/career/application number combination.

Changes

The issue is seen after applying the fix - first incorporated in CS 9.2 PUM Image 24 - that delivered the 'Preferred Name Search' option.
