E-IB: Unable to Edit a Child Document's Properties Using Document Builder (Doc ID 2866970.1)

Last updated on MAY 09, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.57 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A Document was created using Document Builder. Its structure consisted of a Collection, and a Compound child containing several primitive elements/properties.
The Document was placed into an Application Designer project, migrated to a new environment, and opened in Document Builder in the new environment.
A developer attempted to change the Compound child document's elements' length, but could not, because they were grayed out, even though they should have been editable.

Sample Environment:

PeopleTools 8.57.06
FSCM 9.20

Steps to replicate:

1. Create a Document with the structure described above in one environment (Navigation: PeopleTools > Documents > Document Builder).

2. Log into Application Designer project, add the Document to a project, and migrate it to a new environment.

3. Log into PIA in the new environment, and open the Document in Document Builder (Navigation: PeopleTools > Documents > Document Builder).

4. Click on any of the Compound child's primitive elements, and observe that the element is grayed out (Read-Only).
