HCM 9.2: When Hiring an Employee, 'Last Hire Date' Defaults To System Date (Current Entry Date), but After Save, it Defaults to 'Hire Date' (Doc ID 2868562.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 20, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Human Resources - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

By creating the Employment Record for a New Hire with an effective date different from the data input entry date (the current date), the 'Last Hire Date' field defaults to the current System Date (current Effective Date) instead of the actual Hire Date.

After saving the Record, the Hire Date is automatically corrected. However, the Administrators are getting confused by the initial 'Last Hire Date' = system date, which is not correct.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

1.Navigate to Workforce Administration > Personal Information > Biographical > Add a Person: Effective Date: Hire Date
   2. Organizational Relationships Tab > Choose Employee in the Relationship grid and click on Add Relationship
   3. Administrator is automatically redirected to the Job Data Page (Effective Date: Hire Date)
Observe: Last Start Date is defaulted to System Date (current Effective Date, however, it should have been the Hire Date
   4. Fill in all the required information and click on OK
Observe: Last Start Date is defaulted to System Date (current Effective Date). However, it should have been the Hire Date.
