Symptoms
Retirement Accounting Entries are Unbalanced at the Accumulated Amortization (AA) Account level after Expiring/Retiring Operating Leases
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a Generic Operating Lease
Navigation: Lease Administration > Payables Leases > Create New Payables Lease
2. Generate the Straightline Schedule, Calculate the Depreciation, Create the Accounting Entries, and Close the Depreciation prior to the upcoming Retirement Period
Navigation:
Lease Administration > Integrations > Generate SL Schedule
Asset Management > Depreciation > Processing > Calculate Depreciation
Asset Management > Accounting Entries > Create Accounting Entries
Asset Management > Accounting Entries > Close Depreciation
3. Early Expire the Lease / Retire the Leased Asset
Navigation: Lease Administration > Payables Leases > Maintain Payables Lease
4. Calculate the Depreciation, Create the Accounting Entries, and Close the Depreciation for the Retirement Period
5. Review the Accounting Entries (Export PS_DIST_LN)
Navigation:
Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Product Related > Asset Management > Accounting > Accounting Entry Template
or Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Product Related > Lease Administration > Accounting > Accounting Entry Template

The issue occurred after upgrading from Image 25 to Image 40 as the system was set up to use a different Account Number for Distribution Type Accumulated Amortization (AA) and Transaction Types Lease Payment (LPY), Lease Expense (LEX),and Retirement (RET)
