GPCHE: GPCH_TX_CANTON Field from PS_GPCH_RP_TX07 Table is Incorrect when Former Sourcetax Salary Moves to Another Canton in the Same Year (Doc ID 2883834.1)

Last updated on JULY 18, 2022

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Global Payroll Switzerland - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

GPCH_TX_CANTON field value from PS_GPCH_RP_TX07 table is incorrect in database when former sourcetax salary moves to another canton in the same year.

PS_GPCH_RP_TX07.GPCH_TX_CANTON is calculated either from the Home Address or from the Canton field when data are present in GPCH_TX_DATA.

This works fine until a former source taxed salary is excepted from source tax (GPCH_TX_DATA.GPCH_TX_EXEMPT_TAX and GPCH_TX_DATA.GPCH_TX_QS_SW change from 'N' to 'Y')

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Main Menu > Workforce Administration > Job Information > Job data

Address as of 01.01.2021 in canton Geneva (GE):

    2. Check for any valid multi-contract employee

    3. Navigate to Global Payroll & Absence Mgmt > Absence and Payroll Processing > Calculate Absence and Payroll

Run and finalize payroll calculation January 2021 and February 2021

4. Add a new situation to the source tax data as per 01.03.2021 : except employee from source tax

5. Run and finalize payroll calculation March 2021,

6. Add a new address as per 01.04 2021 with a new canton (LU).

7. Run payroll calculation April 2021

8. Check GPCH_RP_TX07 :

       SELECT EMPLID, CAL_RUN_ID, EMPL_RCD, GP_PAYGROUP, CAL_ID, PAY_ENTITY, COMPANY, GPCH_TX_CANTON, GPCH_TX_EXPT_STAT, GPCH_RP_CHAR01, ADDRESS_TYPE

       FROM PS_GPCH_RP_TX07

       WHERE EMPLID = '<emplid>' AND CAL_RUN_ID LIKE '<cal_run_id%>'

       ORDER BY EMPLID, CAL_RUN_ID, CAL_ID;

Result: This will then result in a certificate of salary with Residence canton = Geneva instead of Luzern and Swissdec will send their salary certificate to the wrong canton.
