Symptoms
When pinging the default local node, the node name is shortened and the ping fails with the following error in the errorLog.html.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Log into PIA.
2. Navigate to PeopleTools > Integration Broker > Configuration > Gateways, and open the local gateway.
3. Click on the Properties link, and log in.
4. Ping the default local node.
5. Observe that the node name is shortened, and ping fails with the error above.
