Academic Progress: The Values Under The Column When/Typically Offered Are Not Honoring Effective-Date on Course Catalog (Doc ID 2886133.1)

Last updated on JULY 29, 2022

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Academic Advisement - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The display of When/Typically Offered on the Academic Progress report does not take into account the course catalog offerings effective-date.

When a new effective-dated row is entered on the Course Catalog, with a different Course Typically Offered value than the previous effective-dated row, or a blank value, the change is not reflected in self-service Academic Progress.  A student accessing their Academic Progress report will continue to see the 'When/Typically Offered' value from the prior effective dated row when viewing the course.

  1. Login as a student
  2. Go to Academic Progress -> Academic Progress -> Social Science Courses
  3. Note one of the courses shown and it's typically-offered value
  4. Login as an administrator
  5. Go to Curriculum Management -> Course Catalog -> Course Catalog
  6. Search for course from Step 3
  7. Add a new effective-dated row and a new/2nd course offering
  8. Change Course Typically Offered from Fall, Spring to empty (or anything else)
  9. Save and login back in as a student
  10. The value for When/Typically Offered has not changed.
