SFP: Process SFP Messages (SCC_INTF_VOC) not Including Scheduled Term Breaks When Calculating Number of Days in the Term (Doc ID 2886676.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 04, 2022

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Campus Community - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When running Process SFP messages (SCC_INTF_VOC), to send term information to Student Financial Planning (SFP), the number of days in the term is being calculated incorrectly - without factoring in scheduled term breaks, like Spring Break. The incorrect information in the file, received in SFP, impacts the ability to perform an accurate Return of Title IV Funds (R2T4) calculation in the SFP system.

For example, in one observed instance, a school was reporting 111 term days, when the total should have been 104, subtracting out the 7 day spring break set up in the Holiday Schedule table in Campus Community.

The SFP integration process needs to include a field to report the breaks in attendance by student and term, and the ability to also send an updated value as term schedules change.

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Campus Community > Student Fin Planning Interface > Process SFP Messages
  2. Choose  Student Academic and Fin Info (SAFI) in the dropdown for the Message Class field.
  3. Run the process, and review the resulting file to confirm that the number of days in the term is not factoring out any scheduled term breaks.
