Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.58 to 8.60 [Release 8.4]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Users assigned multiple roles are not receiving notification e-mails for all. For any event modified per the Approval Transaction Registry confirmation below, any user to which multiple roles were assigned will receive only the email associated with the first User List/Template combination in the Notifications section.

Steps to Replicate:

A. Roles:

  1. Main Menu>PeopleTools>Security>Permissions and Roles>Roles. Choose two (or more) existing roles, or create new, as desired.
  2. Main Menu>PeopleTools>Security>User Profile>User Profile. Select desired employee (s) and assign them multiple roles.

B. User lists:

  1. Main Menu>Enterprise Components>Approvals>Approvals>User List Setup. Create User List.
  2. In the User List Source section, choose the By Role Radio Button.  Create one user list for each role above.

C. Generic Templates:

  1. Main Menu>PeopleTools>Workflow>Notifications>Generic Templates: Create one template per each role above (thus producing an email specific to each role)

D. Approval Transaction Registry Configuration:

  1. Main Menu>Enterprise Components>Approvals>Approvals>Approval Setup: Select Process ID of choice.
  2. Under Notifications section, in any/all events of choice, add rows for each User List/Template combo; enter the User List as Participant and enter the generic template associated with the User List/role to the Template field.
