ABMGT: Absence Request Routed to Terminated Manager When Employee Reports to an Inactive Position (Doc ID 2888757.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 02, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Absence Management - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a position is vacant/inactive, Absence Requests are routed (for approval) to terminated manager and not forwarded to Admin or next-level approver.

Conditions/Setup:

  1. Absence Approval Process ID is "Absence by Position Management"
  2. Position to which employee reports is vacant; last encumbent of this position has inactive/terminated status.

Steps to replicate issue:

  1. Employee Self Service>Time Tile>Request Absence Tile
  2. Enter absence request and submit
  3. The absence request is routed to the inactive/terminated manager; event will then not be approved (expectation is that event will be routed to the next higher level approver or the administrator; in this situation, it will remain unapproved unless/until the employee alerts a different approver).
