Symptoms

When attempting to run the loan origination FAPLBOG1 COBOL process, the following error occurs, as noted in the log file:

Or in some cases, the error may instead display Return Code 08629 and Message "Invalid Column Name 'SYSDATE'."

This issue will only occur in environments on the Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) platform.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid > Loans > Process Loans > Loan Origination.
  2. Enter parameters, including aid year 2023, and run the process.
  3. Click link to Process Monitor and note when process finishes in Error status.
  4. Click Details link for the process instance, then the link that says 'View Log/Trace'; in the file list, locate the file containing FAPLBOG1 and extension .log, and click into the file to verify the results and the error message.

Changes

This issue occurs after applying the fix for <Bug 34211468>-DIRECT LOAN ATTENDANCE COST: OVERRIDE FUNCTIONALITY AND UPDATE DETERMINATION LOGIC. This fix delivered some updates to the faplorg0.cbl and faplorg0.dms COBOL objects, including a new version of the FAPLORG0_S_FEDCOA store statement.
