Issue With Batch Student Advisor Assignment: Process Adds a New Sequenced Row Instead of Deleting the Previous Advisor. (Doc ID 2902972.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 08, 2022

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Student Records - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Batch student advisor assignment: the un-assign mode works insofar as it clears out the data from the PS_STDNT_ADVR_HIST record. But there remains an effective-dated row in PS_STDNT_ADVISOR from the prior assignment run. This seems to prevent using the assign mode that we would run for an initial assignment (also the re-assign mode no longer works once un-assign is used).

  1. Home > Records and Enrollment > Student Background Information> Student Advisor Assignment

  2. Reassign advisor from AA0002 to AA0012

  3. Run SQL: SELECT * FROM PS_STDNT_ADVR_HIST WHERE EMPLID IN ('AA0005', 'AA0007', 'AA0026', 'AA0031', 'AA0043')
  4. Run process.  No change.
