Why Can Product Kit Components Not Be Deleted/adjusted From The Kit Setup (Doc ID 2904242.1)

When a product Kit is created and the kit components are saved. There is no way to remove the Kit components anymore or even adjust the QTY.
So in case someone made a mistake while doing the setup and when the setup is validated and find out it needs to be corrected (so before any use), there is no possibility to do so, other then adjusting the obsolete date and re-adding the same components again with a different QTY.  The code on PRODKIT_COMPS.PROD_COMPONENT_ID.RowDelete does not validation at all other than the fact that it is a new record.
Why is this working this way?
