FM EFC Calculator is Producing Different EFC in All Cases Compared to the Value on Original ISIR Calculated by CPS for Aid Year 2023-2024 (Doc ID 2908034.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 25, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When invoking the new Federal Methodology (FM) EFC Calculator, by any method for Aid Year 2023-2024, the new Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) is calculating to a different value, in every case, compared to the value on the original ISIR calculated by the Central Processing System (CPS).

The differences in every case are much more than $1, so this issue is not the same as the one documented in Note 2904958.1

The result produced by the FM EFC Calculator is expected to match what is provided by the CPS, if no corrections have been made to any of the data fields.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid > Federal Application Data > Correct 2023-2024 ISIR records, for any student where only the original transaction has loaded, and an EFC has not been calculated via the FM calculator.
  2. Add a new row, without changing any data elements.
  3. Click the 'Calc EFC' button, and compare the calculated result with the prior row on the EFC\DB Matches\Corr tab, and note the difference in the values.

Changes

The issue occurs after applying the 2023-2024 AID YEAR UPDATES FOR ISIR, delivered originally in (PRP) Patch 33234548 and subsequently included in CS 9.2 PUM Image 27.
