ELA: After Life Extension Amendment, the Depreciation Close Process Created an Extra PLP Entry in PS_DIST_LN That Matched the Same Amount As the LPY Entry That Was Written in the Previous Month (Doc ID 2925493.1)

Symptoms


After Life Extension Amendment, the Depreciation Close Process created an Extra PLP entry in PS_DIST_LN that matched the same amount as the LPY entry that was written in the previous month


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Create a New Payables Lease
Navigation: Lease Administration > Payables Leases > Create New Payables Lease
2. Activate the Lease and Calculate the Depreciation / Create Accounting Entries
Navigation1: Asset Management > Depreciation > Processing > Calculate Depreciation
Navigation2: Asset Management > Accounting Entries > Create Accounting Entries
3. Close the Depreciation until the last lease term(10) period plus one additional Period (11)
Navigation: Asset Management > Accounting Entries > Close Depreciation
4. Create an Amendment to Extend the Lease Term
Use the Accounting Date in the following Period (12)
Navigation: Lease Administration > Payables Leases > Maintain Payables Lease
5. Activate the Amendment
6. Calculate the Depreciation and Create Accounting Entries
7. Close the Depreciation for Period 12
The Accounting Entries are correct (No entries in Period 11).
Navigation: Asset Management > Accounting Entries > Review Financial Entries
8. Create a New Amendment and Update the Estimated Life From 14 to 40 (Use the Same Transaction / Accounting Dates as the previous Amendment)
9. Save and Activate the Amendment:
10. Calculate the Depreciation
11. Re-run Close Depreciation for Period 11
Notice that the process created 3 LPY entries in Period 11.
Navigation: Asset Management > Accounting Entries > Review Financial Entries
