The Company Directory Search Is Not Returning All The Employees Found In The Org Chart (Doc ID 2925568.1)

Symptoms

The Employees whose 2nd, 3rd, or other higher management level reporting to a vacant position are not returned when they are searched in the Company Directory.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

  1. Login to PeopleSoft.
  2. Go to: Company Directory
  3. Enter an Employee name p.e. 'Norman Jones' in the Search field and click Run Search button (arrow icon).
  4. The search results displays the Employee (Position: 19000058) which reports to Mark Saylor  (Position: 19000054) which reports to Andy Lee (Position: 19000900)
  5. Terminate Andy Lee leaving his Position vacant.
  6. Go to: SetUp HCM > Common Defintions > Direct Reports For Managers > Build Direct Reports Table
  7. Run the process using Build Mode: Incremental - Current Date Upd
  8. Go to: Set Up HCM > System Administration > Utilities > Job Tree Builder > Tree Builder Run Control
  9. Run the process using Build Action: Update Existing Tree-From Node, Tree Structure ID: Company Directory, Start Node: KU0209XXXXX000000000
  10. Go to: PeopleTools > Search framework > Administration > Schedule Search Index
  11. Run the process using Search Definition: HC_HR_COMPANY_DIRECTORY1, Indexing Type: Incremental Index
  12. Go to: Company Directory
  13. Search 'Normal Jones'
