Symptoms
Retro pay amounts are incorrect when there is a mid pay period job change
The retro pay amount calculated is incorrect when there is a mid pay period job change in the pay period where the retro pay is effective. The retro pay calculation process prorates when there is a mid pay period job change (regardless of the type of job change) and this seems to produce incorrect results.
Those employees that had a mid pay period job change as well, the other retro pay periods did not have a mid pay period job change and were calculated correctly.
The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. Confirm a payroll for my test employee (ie. Nov. 16 to Nov. 30) - Payroll for North America>Payroll Processing USA>Produce Payroll>Confirm Payroll
2. Create additional pay for 3 sequence numbers using the same earning code - Payroll for North America>Employee Pay Data USA>Create Additional Pay
3. Sequence 1 & 2 has an effective date as ie. 11/16/2022 with hours of 5.75, a rate of 12.00, and end date of 11/30/2022
4. Sequence 3 will have a begin date of 11/01/2022 with hours of 2.50, a rate of 60.00, and end date of 11/15/2022
5. Verify the triggers have occurred - Payroll for North America>Retroactive Payroll>Retro Pay>Process and Review Requests>Request and Trigger Summary
6. Run retro pay calculation - Payroll for North America>Retroactive Payroll>Retro Pay>Process and Review Requests>Calculate Retroactive Pay
7. Review the calculation results that shows as expected - Payroll for North America>Retroactive Payroll>Retro Pay>Process and Review Requests>Retro Pay Calculation Results
8. Go to the Position that the employee is tied and change the reports too - Organizational Development>Position Management>Maintain Positions/Budgets>Add/Update Position Info
9. Go back to JOB data and insert a row that indicates the reports too as changed to some one else in the same position.
10. Run the retro pay calculation again and confirm that the calculation is not as expected. Only sequence 3 works as expected since it does not fall on the period the job change was done.
