FM EFC No Longer Calculates Student Total Income (STI) for Independent Formulas; STI Amount Shows 0 When Total Income (TI) > 0 on EFC\DB Matches\Corr Tab of Correct 2023-2024 ISIR records (Doc ID 2930545.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 25, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When calculating the Federal Methodology Estimated Family Contribution (FM EFC) for Aid Year 2024, the student total income field (STI) no longer being calculated for any of the independent student formulas 2,3,5,6.

The EFC itself is calculated correctly, but on the EFC\DB Matches\Corr Tab of Correct 2023-2024 ISIR records, the STI field shows 0 when the total income (TI) is > 0.

The result is unexpected, because the STI was populated by FM INAS in 2023 and previous aid years under the same circumstances.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Correct 2023-2024 ISIR records > EFC\DB Matches\Corr for any student who is formula 2,3,5,6 (independent student) and TI > 0.
  2. If the FM EFC is not already calculated, click the 'Calc EFC' button.
  3. Note the STI field displays 0.

Changes

The issue occurs after applying the 2023-2024 AID YEAR UPDATES FOR ISIR, delivered originally in (PRP) Patch 33234548 and now in the latest CS 9.2 PUM Image starting with Image 27.
