After Financial Aid Term (FA TERM) Build, Acad Level Tab of Maintain Student FA Term Component Shows Financial Aid Load of 'No Units' ('N') or Another Value That Doesn't Match Actual Enrollment (Doc ID 2935750.1)

Symptoms

After running fa term build on-line or batch, some students who are enrolled are built with a fa load value that does not match the actual enrollment. For example, in one reported case some students were rebuilt with a load of 'N' despite being enrolled for the term.

The FA load value is expected to always match and correspond with the number of units enrolled.

The issue will probably only be seen with one specific term and affect a relatively small subset of students (not all) enrolled for the term; also, the problem may be identified to have begun as of a certain date, when all records built before the date are correct.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Run the two step batch process - Financial Aid > Financial Aid Term > Create FA Term Driver Recs > Create FA Term Driver Records, then Financial Aid > Financial Aid Term > Build FA Terms in Batch > Build FA Terms.
  2. Query STDNT_FA_TERM to identify students with UNT_TAKEN_FA > 0 but FA_LOAD not corresponding to the expected value for the units - such as an FA_LOAD of 'N'.
  3. Navigate to Financial Aid > Financial Aid Term > Maintain Student FA Term > FA Term for an emplid and term identified in the previous step, and click the 'Build Info' link to verify the record was built with source 'T'.
  4. Navigate to the Statistics tab to verify the units are displaying correctly.
  5. Navigate to the Acad Level tab to verify the Financial Aid Load displays as 'N' or another value that is not correct for the units in step 4.
