Award Disbursement Detail and Disburse Aid Page Show Amount Disbursed but Item Type was Never Disbursed, as Indicated by Award Activity Showing no Disbursed Action Row (Doc ID 2937587.1)

Symptoms

On the Student Aid Package tab of Assign Awards to Students, when clicking the 'Disbursement' link on an Item Type row to review the Award Disbursement Detail, the Disbursed Amount shows populated for at least one disbursement ID. The same Disbursed Amount displays on the Disburse Aid page for the same student, item type and term, where the authorized amount will also likely be populated. 

However, the authorized and disbursed amounts should be showing zero, as the item type was never actually authorized nor disbursed, as can be confirmed on the View Award Activity page for the same item type where no Authorized nor Disbursed action rows are present.

This issue will likely be seen only in a small number of cases and very sporadically. It's not currently understood exactly how to reproduce the issue at will, however, the end result can be verified with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid > Awards > Award Processing > Assign Awards to a Student > Student Aid Package.
  2. Click the 'Disbursement' link and note the Disbursed Amount populated for one or more of the disbursements.
  3. Navigate to Financial Aid > Awards > View Award Activity > Award Activity for the same item type and note there is no row indicating either an Authorized action or a Disbursed action.
