E-AS: / E-PIA: / E-CLOUD: Peoplesoft Application Login Failing After DB Migrated To DBCS On OCI And Appserver Kept On Prem - JOLT_CAT:1175 Warning Is Get In TUXLOG (Doc ID 2937700.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 28, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.56 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Other facts:
--------------
This applies to hybrid cloud models and to other foreseen hosting architecture with multiple datacenters in mind.
The the below facts will be seen when DB is set in a different datacenter, away from the appserver.

PeopleSoft Appdomain was started and PIA login page is coming up.

After entering credentials on login page PIA home page was not opening.
Occasionally one can receive NO DATA error in PIA page.

This warning is seen in the /appserv//LOGS/APPSRV_MMDD.LOG, and your TUXLOG.MMDDYY

JOLT_CAT:1175: "WARN: Disconnecting listener connection to Jolt client, request timed out"

No other relevant errors beside the above warning will be observed as Application Server logs are not getting updated.
From the warning it was clear that tuxedo is not able to get data from application server.
Configuration and ports opened are proper hence there is something wrong on the connection to DB from which application server is getting the data.
Switching the same servers to On Prem DB no issues were seen at login.

Goal

In a hybrid OCI cloud model using fast connect to interconnect OCI DB and On prem Appserver(s):

What is the maximum distance to connect a PeopleSoft client (two tier) application sever or application designer or batch server to a database to prevent client <> DB connection timeouts, and to keep navigation performance at a reasonable level?
