Symptoms

Asset quantity is not reversed during the reversal of wrongly capitalized assets. The Reverse Distributed Assets Application Engine process (PC_REVERS_AM) is not sending the asset quantities for reversing transaction entries. This is causing the asset quantities to be overstated.

A few assets were mistakenly capitalized from Project Costing to Asset Management (where it should not have been done). When reversing these capitalized assets (Navigation Project Costing > Assets > Review Assets), it was observed that the cost of the assets was reversed as expected however, the quantity of the assets was not reversed. The Assets still have the same quantity when the assets were capitalized from Project costing.

Replication Steps:

1. Create a Project. Asset Integration rule is chosen as "Many Assets from Each Activity" and distribution is "Project Percent Distribution".
2. Create an activity.
3. Using Project Costing > Assets > Express Asset Definition - Associate 4 Assets with each asset taking 25% distribution. Create Asset 1 with QTY 20, Asset 2 with QTY 10, and Assets 3 and 4 with QTY 1.
4. Create a transaction/transactions worth $31,500 using Add Transaction component.
5. Run the PC_EXPRSS_AM process. Assets are processed and loaded into AM tables with quantities as noted in step 3 and each asset is capitalized with a cost of $7875.
6. Now Use the navigation Project Costing > Assets > Review Assets. Select all the cost rows earlier processed and modify the status as "Reverse" and process.
7. The Reverse Distributed Assets Application Engine process (PC_REVERS_AM) gets kicked off and reversal transactions are loaded into AM tables.
8. Notice that the reversal entry has 0 quantity for the asset. For example, When you open Asset 1 using Asset Management> Asset Transactions > Owned Assets > Basic Add - The Acquisition Detail shows the offset entry but with quantity as blank. The quantity is expected to be -20 in this case. The Quantity in the PS_INTFC_FIN table also shows the value as blank when the expectation is that it should have been -20 for the reversal entry.
9. Due to this issue, the asset quantity still persists in AM even though the cost is reversed. The need was to reverse cost and quantities both.
