TL/ABMGT: After Applying PUM 45 Users Experience Issues Requesting Absence From Time Sheet (Doc ID 2945857.1)

Last updated on JUNE 02, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Absence Management - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After applying PUM 45, users will encounter two issues when entering an absence request via the time sheet.

Steps to Recreate:

Issue 1: Request of a partial day absence returns to a 'blank' page; employee can't submit absence for approval.

  1. Employee signs in (Employee Self Service) and clicks Time tile.
  2. Employee clicks Enter Time tile to access time sheet.
  3. Employee clicks the Request Absence button and is presented with the Manage Absences page.
  4. Employee enters dates, name of absence and then chooses the partial days option section.
  5. Employee enters desired partial day information and clicks the Done button.
  6. When returned to the Manage Absences page, all of the detail is missing and only the 'Submit' button is visible.

While employee could enter the submit button and the event would be properly submitted, if forecasting or additional information is required, the employee will receive an error message.  Since the page is blank, these required tasks can't be completed and employee can't submit the request, as desired.

Issue 2: Request of full day absence returns employee to the Manage Absences screen and not back to the time sheet as expected.

  1. Employee signs in (Employee Self Service) and clicks Time tile.
  2. Employee clicks Enter Time tile to access time sheet.
  3. Employee clicks the Request Absence button and is presented with the Manage Absences page.
  4. Employee enters dates, name of absence, applies absence and enters any required information.
  5. Employee submits absence.
  6. Once the submit is complete, the Manage Absences page persists and the employee is not returned to the time sheet.

Employees must go back to the Home Page>Time Tile>Enter Time navigation, since they were not returned to their original entry point.

Changes

Users applied PUM 45, which introduced "Manage Absences", a new component for requesting absence events.
