GPUK: When Trying to Create a National Element on the Earnings Page PeopleSoft is not Recognizing the UK Requirement that cannot Deduct More than 50% from Taxable Pay (Doc ID 2951741.1)

Last updated on MAY 26, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise HCM Global Payroll UK - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When trying to create a national element on the Earnings page, PeopleSoft is deducting more than 50% tax from taxable pay without Benefits. This is not respecting the UK requirement to limit at 50%.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

1. Set Up HCM > Product Related > Global Payroll & Absence Mgmt > Elements > Payroll Elements > Earnings > Earnings Name

- set up three elements the same way

- did not want the elements to be gross through the net, we added them to the below accumulators:

a. BEN TAX PAY PTD - this will add to the PTD Benefits bucket on FPS (60 – Value of benefits taxed via payroll in pay period)

b. BEN TAX PAY YTD - this will add to YTD bucket on FPS (149 - Value of benefits taxed via payroll year to date)

c. GBR AC GRTX SEG - this will add to both the PTD (58) and YTD (41a) so that they are taxed correctly and appear correctly on both the P60 and the FPS files.

2. Added to the Section – GBR SE EARNINGS: General Earnings Section

3. Added to the Element group – Added to GBR EG ALLPAY
