(Doc ID 2952176.1)
Last updated on JANUARY 26, 2024
Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Student Financials - Version 9.2 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
A student account has course list fees and associated GST/VAT posted to the account. Two charges, and GST are posted for the same Course List due to the classes the student enrolled in. A waiver, setup to grant a percentage waiver to the course list fee charge and GST is granted to the student. A waiver applies to each course list fee charge and GST. Calculating tuition again for the student will increase one of the GST/VAT waivers by the original amount. This occurs with each subsequent tuition calculation.
This issue occurs using course list setup, and waiver code setup not outlined in 'Waiver of GST Charge Calculated From A Course List Fee Does Not Apply As Expected When Charges Are Initially Paid With a Lower Priority Credit Item Type (Doc ID 2936811.1)'. When the setup outlined in this article is used, this issue does not occur.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Navigate to Student Financials, Tuition and Fees, Tuition Calculation;
- Select a student previously calculated with Course List Fees with GST, and a waiver assigned;
- Click the Calculate Tuition and Fees button;
- Navigate to Student Financials, View Customer Accounts;
- Select the student;
- View the details of the account type and term previously calculated
- Note one of the GST waivers increases in amount.
