Symptoms
An effective dated row on the Set Up SACR, , Product Related, Student Financials, Item Types, Item Types, General Ledger Interface tab for an item type and term has the Status field changed to inactive. For the same term, a row exists with a prior effective date that has an Active status. After making the current effective dated row inactive on the item type, the item type is posted to a student account for the term the chartfields were inactivated. When the Generate Accounting Entries process (SFPGLINT) is run, the accounting lines created from the posting to the student account contain the chartfields on the inactive row. The expectation is the chartfields from the active row would be used.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Navigate to Set Up SACR, , Product Related, Student Financials, Item Types, Item Types;
- Select an item type having GL Interface information populated;
- Click on the GL Interface tab;
- Change the status on the setup for a Term to Inactive;
- Click Save;
- Navigate to Student Financials, Charges and Payments, Post Student Transactions;
- Select an emplid, and the item type used in Step 2;
- Post a transaction to the student account in the same term where the chartfield setup was inactivated;
- Navigate to Student Financials, GL Interface, Generate Accounting Entries;
- Select a run control;
- Populate the run control and submit the process to the process scheduler;
- Navigate to Student Financials, GL Interface, Review Accounting Lines;
- Select the accounting lines for the emplid, and click 'View Accounting Line Records;
- Click on the Chartfield tab in the grid, and note the accounting lines created use the chartfields on the inactive row for the item type and term.
