Applies to:
PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Academic Advisement - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
When running the Academic Advisement Report, the cumulative GPA that displays on the report is incorrect in the specific situation when a student has a repeated course in the same term with a course with an incomplete grade. In these cases, the grades of the repeated courses are being calculated in the GPA, contrary to the setup which specifies that repeated courses should not be included in the calculation.
The GPA on the Advisement Report should be calculating correctly in every situation, based on setup, and always match the GPA that displays on the transcript. The Advisement GPA is correct in all other cases, and in the problem cases, the GPA displays correctly on the transcript.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
- Navigate to Main Menu > Academic Advisement > Student Advisement > Request Advisement Report.
- Add a New Value & Enter ID, Institution and Report Type - for a student with a repeated course and incomplete course in the same term.
- Click on Process Request Button and Verify the Cum GPA value that displays on the report.
- Navigate to Main Menu > Records and Enrollment > Transcripts > Request Transcript Report and run the process for the same student.
- On the transcript, note the GPA value compared to the value on the Advisement report.
