EEX 9.2: On Employee Profile Page, It Shows Only Rehire Date Instead Of Hire Date (Doc ID 2963573.1)

Last updated on JULY 27, 2023

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On the Employee Profile page, it shows only rehire date instead of the hire date, even though the field description shows as hire date and this causes confusion to the users.

User is updating the Hire date on the Employee Profile because they need to enter an expense that occurred before their actual hire date. After updating the Hire date, saving the page and going back into the page the Hire date is still showing the old date but in the database the correct date is there. The Employee Profile is actually displaying Rehire date but Hire date gets updated and there is nowhere to update the Rehire date.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Search for an employee (KU0022) which does not have the rehire date
2. On the online page (Travel and Expenses - Manage Employee Information - Update Employee Details) - Organizational Data tab, observe the hire date field correctly shows as hire date value (01/01/1900) on the PS_EMPLOYMENT table
3. for testing purposes, update the rehire date to 01/01/2023 for KU0022
4. On the online page (Travel and Expenses - Manage Employee Information - Update Employee Details) - Organizational Data tab, observe the hire date field now shows the rehire date value (01/01/2023) on the PS_EMPLOYMENT table
5. Update the hire date 12/01/2022 and save
6. on the PS_EMPLOYMENT table, it shows the hire date is updated.
7. Go back to the online page, and it still shows the rehire date which is 01/01/2023
