Authorization Fails With 'Student's Attempted Units on the FA Term fall below the minimum for this term.' (Doc ID 2967498.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 25, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Financial Aid - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When running the Authorization process in batch or on-line, some item types fail to authorize with the message  'Student's Attempted Units on the FA Term fall below the minimum for this term.'

The result is unexpected because the students appear to meet the minimum enrolled units requirement for the term being authorized. The issue is typically only seen in a small number of cases, while most other cases work as expected.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Financial Aid > Disbursement > Disburse Aid > Disburse Aid for the student and term.
  2. Go to the row for the item type being authorized.
  3. Click Authorization button, and note the Authorized amount remains at 0 and a 'Message' link appears on the right of the row.
  4. Click the 'Message' link to verify the message noted above.
