Application Engine Process SAD_SL_SMP Performance is Poor, Taking 7-8 Hours to Complete, When Run Via Transaction Management Process Component to Load Prospect Data Such as ACT Test Scores (Doc ID 2968371.1)

When using the Transaction Management Process component to load prospect data such as ACT Test Scores, the component invokes the Prospect Data Load - SMP, SAD_SL_SMP Application Engine process; and it runs very slowly , taking 7-8 hours to complete, when the run time should be much less. 

The issue can be reproduced with the following steps:

1. Navigate to Student Recruiting > Prospect/Admissions Data Mgmt > Transaction Management Process.
2. Populate the parameters and run the process.
3. Click link to Process Monitor, click 'Details' link for the instance once the process has finished in 'Success' status, and note the begin and end times spanning 7-8 hours.
