Error 'Register Is Not Open (14810,421)' Occurs For One Cashier Processing a Credit Card Payment (Doc ID 2974729.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 20, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise CS Student Financials - Version 9.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

A credit card payment is entered in Cashiering.  In one example, a VISA tender key was used.  Control correctly passes to the third party ePayment provider for credit card data entry.  When control returns to Campus Solutions, the error occurs.  Other Cashier's, linked to the same Cashier Office do not experience this issue on the Business Date opened in the Cash Office.

Review of the underlying Cashier tables for the Business Date, Cashier, and Cash Register confirm the Cashier and Register have been correctly opened.

Register is not open (14810, 421)

The Register assigned to the Cashier has not been opened / reopened yet.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Student Financials, Cashiering, Post Student Payments;
  2. Enter a Target Key, and a Credit Card Tender Key;
  3. Transfer to the third party epayment provider site and enter the credit card information;
  4. Transfer back to Campus Solutions to complete the credit card payment;
  5. The error message is displayed to the Cashier.
