COBOL Processes Performance Degraded After Applying PeopleTools or Application Updates and Fixes (Doc ID 2977891.1)

After applying PeopleTools maintenance or Campus Solutions maintenance, some COBOL programs are taking longer to run than prior to the  maintenance being applied.  In one example, the Credit History process takes four hours to complete after applying maintenance.  Prior to maintenance, the process completed in two hours.  Other batch processes are experiencing performance issues since the maintenance activity also.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1.  Navigate to Student Financials, Collections, Credit History, Process Credit History;
2.  Select a run control;
3.  Populate the run control as required;
4.  Submit the process to the process scheduler;
5.  When the process finishes, click on the Details hyperlink in the process monitor and note the duration of time the process ran.
