Last updated on OCTOBER 17, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Contracts - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When a product price is updated, the Extended Price on the Billing Allocation page can be made to reflect the new price but the corresponding extended price on the revenue allocation Page cannot be made to reflect the updated product price for a contract with the Separate Billing and Revenue option unchecked.

Replication Steps:

  1. Create a Product and assign a List Price effective 07/01/2022. (Products Identify  > Product Details > Define Product and Attributes & Products > Identify Product Details > Assign List Price).
  2. Create a Fixed Customer Contract. Do not choose to separate Billing and Revenue. (Customer Contracts > Create and Amend  > Define Contract General Info)
  3. Assign the Product created in Step 1.
  4. Override the Price from the Product in Amount Allocation (in the example below, the Product Price was $450,000, but was overridden on the contract line to be $440,000).
  5. Enter bill plan/revenue plan contract terms, accounting distribution, and leave in Pending status.
  6. Leave Contract in Pending status, but complete accounting distribution and amount allocation.
  7. Inactivate the product price as of 07/01/2022 (correction mode necessary).
  8. Go back to the customer contract, amount allocation, and Billing Allocation tab.
  9. Check the “Retrieve Billing Price” checkbox and click Recalculate. a) Extended Price goes to 0.00. b) Billing Amount goes to 0.00. c) Allocation goes to Incomplete. This is correct behavior.
  10. Enter the new Billing Amount of $440,000 and click the Recalculate button. a) Extended Price stays 0.00 b) Billing Amount stays $440,000. c) Allocation goes to complete. This is correct behavior.
  11. Save the page.
  12. Click on the Revenue Allocation tab. a) Extended Price still shows the old product price of $450,000 – This is incorrect. b) Revenue Amount, Total Billing, Total Revenue, and Fixed Revenue amounts are correct. c) Everything is grayed out except the Recalculate button. The Retrieve Revenue Price checkbox cannot be checked and this is expected as the Separate Billing and Revenue is unchecked.
  13. Click the bottom Recalculate button. It does nothing.
  14. Click the top Recalculate button. It does nothing.
  15. There is no way of correcting the Extended Price on the Revenue Allocation page.
