Getting Error When Changing An External Organization ID: New Organization ID is already in use. Please reenter. (14000,165) (Doc ID 2980150.1)

Symptoms

Change Organization ID component gives error when choosing a New External Org ID value from the lookup.

  1. Navigate to Campus Community > Organization > Change Organization ID.
  2. Select External Org ID.
  3. Select lookup icon on the field New External Org ID.
  4. Select a different Org ID.
  5. Select Save.
  6. Get message:
New Organization ID is already in use.  Please reenter. (14000,165)

The new organization ID you entered is already being used.

Assign a different new organization ID.
