Symptoms

An organization in Correct History mode is selected.  The Contacts button is selected, the Add button is clicked.  After clicking on the 'Contact Details' hyperlink, a new contact is added with a future effective dated row.  When the new row is attempted to be saved, the following error occurs. 

First operand of. is NULL, so cannot access member ORG_CONTACT. (180,236) ORG_CONTACTS.GBL.ORG CNTC_ALL.Rowinit PCPC:168 Statement:2
The first operand of the dot operator is the NULL value, indicating the lack of any object value. As a consequence, the given method or property cannot be used.


       The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Navigate to Main Menu > Campus Community > Organization > Create/Maintain Organizations > Organization Table
  2. Search the External Org ID
  3. Click on Contacts > Contact Details > Add Current Effective Dated row
  4. Make the new contact a primary contact
  5. Save the Changes
  6. Click on Contacts Button again > Go to Contact Details > Modify the current Effective dated row to a Future Effective Dated row
  7. Click Save > Click Contacts Button again (On Organization Table Page)
  8. Error Received
