E-ES: In a 3 Nodes (Multi-Node) Setup, the Search Functionality Is Not Working (Doc ID 2987357.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 16, 2023

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise PT PeopleTools - Version 8.60 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On an environment with Elasticsearch set with multi-node, the Search Functionality is not working. No results returned.
Another symptom is that, some times, in the Define Search Instances page (PeopleTools > Search Framework > Administration), the Ping and Test/Proxy Logins either takes more time than usual (it should return in seconds), or they error out.
When using the Elasticsearch Interact functionality, to check on indices or cluster health, at times, the error below is returned in the browser:

Exception Caught Integration Gateway - HttpTargetConnector:ExternalSystemContactException - The Server is Currently Unable to Handle the Request Due to a Temporary Overloading or Maintenance of the Server. HttpStatusCode Returned : 503.
