E-QR: Excel Files Generated In Email From Schedule Query Give The Error, “File contains corrupted data”, On Trying to Upload in Power BI in Tools 8.59 and Above. (Doc ID 2993341.1)

Symptoms

After Upgrading to Tools 8.59 and above, Excel files generated in email from Schedule Query give the below error message on trying to upload in Power BI which is a 3rd party application.

“File contains corrupted data”



Steps to Replicate:

1. Log into PIA and navigate to Main Menu -> Reporting Tools -> Query -> Schedule Query.
2. Create a new Run Control ID and select and run any Query to Email/Excel output.
3. When the process goes to 'Success' status the email is received with the Excel output file attached.
4. Upload the generated Excel file in the 3rd party application, Power BI.

Changes

 Upgrade to Tools 8.59 or above
