Symptoms
When there are adjustments made to the market rates, the GM_GMFACS creates SFA rows in CA_ACCTG_LN_PC with incorrect RESOURCE_AMOUNT and incorrect rate conversion fields. The amounts do not match with the amounts in PROJ_RESOURCE for the same SFA row causing discrepancies with processed General Ledger Journals
Replication Steps:
- Create/Copy a Proposal, Submit, and Generate an award in USD based business unit. Make sure that FA Rates are specified.
- Finalize the Project Budgets.
- Let's say the market rate for CAD to USD conversion is 1.36363636 for today. (Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Common Definitions > Market Rates > Market Rates).
- Enter a journal with CAD for $1000 transaction currency. (General Ledger > Journals > Journal Entry > Create/Update Journal Entries).
- A GLE analysis type row with a RESOURCE_AMOUNT of $733.33 will be created.
- Let's change the market rate for CAD to USD conversion is 1.4 for today using correction history (Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Common Definitions > Market Rates > Market Rates).
- Run the GM_GMFACS process (Grants > Awards > Process Facilities Admin).
- Notice that the SFA row in PS_PROJ_RESOURCE is created whose RESOURCE_AMOUNT is $357.14 based on a conversion rate of 1.36363636 whereas the SFA row in CA_ACCTG_LN_PC has a RESOURCE_AMOUNT value of $366.67 based on conversion rate of 1.4. This is causing discrepancies between information in PC and GL.
