Symptoms

If a user creates an activity guide life event, like marriage and then HR enters an event with earlier effective date (for example eligibility change) the event user created closes and the event HR created is open as HR event has earlier effective date. When the user goes to Benefit Enrollment page they see the HR event. When the user clicks Start button, they are brought to the activity guide for the event they created.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Log in as Self-Service Employee and go to Benefit Details tile => Life Events.
  2. Enter Life Event for EFFDT1 event date and start Activity Guide (AG).
  3. Go to Benefit Enrollment step and press "Start My Enrollment" button.
  4. Login as Benefits Administrator and add a manual event (HR) that has earlier than EFFDT1 date. Navigation: Benefits > Manage Automated Enrollments > Events > Review BAS Activity.
  5. Press 'Schedule/Prepare Activity' button in On-Demand Event Process page. Navigation: Benefits > Manage Automated Enrollment > Events > On-Demand Event Process > On-Demand Event Process.
  6. Now earlier event is open and AG event is closed.
  7. User logs in and goes to Benefit Details/Benefit Enrollment and clicks 'Start' button next to open HR event. User is then brought to AG event.
