EEX 9.2: Record Field PS_EX_TAUTH_HDR.COMMENTS Is Not Displayed in Travel Authorization Online Classic Pages, Missing Comments That May Have Been Entered in Fluid UI (Doc ID 3007394.1)

Last updated on JUNE 09, 2024

Applies to:

PeopleSoft Enterprise FIN Expenses - Version 9.2 to 9.2 [Release 9]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In the Fluid Travel Authorization creation functionality, (Page and Component EX_TAUTH_FL), and Employee can enter some wording into the Comments field within the transaction's Header section, which gets stored into the Record Field PS_EX_TAUTH_HDR.COMMENTS.

However, when a System Administrator wishes to review existing Travel Authorization transactions in Online Classic, (Page EX_TAUTH_ENTRY), the same Comments Field is nowhere to be seen. This Field was delivered in FSCM 9.1 Application Release, but then replaced by the Notes functionality in Version FSCM 9.2.

This creates an out-of-synch problem with transaction data enterable and viewable in Fluid, but not in Online Classic, for the same Travel Authorization.

REPLICATION STEPS:

1.- Log into the FSCM Online Functionality as an Expenses User
2.- Go to the Employee Self Service Fluid Homepage
3.- Click on the Travel Authorizations tile
4.- Click on the Add Travel Authorization button
5.- Fill in the complete Travel Authorization details, including some wording into the Comments field at the Header level
    6.- Save the changes
7.- Query Record PS_EX_TAUTH_HDR for the recently created Travel Authorization, and confirm that Field COMMENTS is storing the value entered
8.- Navigate to: Travel and Expenses > Travel Authorizations > View
9.- Open the recently created Travel Authorization, this time in Online Classic mode
10.- PROBLEM: Confirm that the Comments field is not being displayed at the Travel Authorization Header section (Page EX_TAUTH_ENTRY)

To gather more information concerning this scenario and its related problem, refer to the available Replication Steps PDF Document here linked containing the complete configuration and the replication steps necessary to reproduce the problem.

In Fluid User Interface, there is no functionality for System Administrator Users, granting them access to the system's transactions without having been defined as an Authorized Expense User. As such, such Users are constrained to keep using the Online Classic functionality. With Online Classic Travel Authorization component and pages not displaying the wording stored in the Comments field (Record Field PS_EX_TAUTH_HDR.COMMENTS), crucial data is being missed.

The Travel Authorization Header Comments field was available in FSCM 9.1 Release, and having it taken away in FSCM 9.2 Version feels like a regression, further supported by the fact that its replacing feature, (Notes), is not including such information in its logic. The Comments field should be re-instated, and if not, then the Notes feature should be the one displaying its value. Transaction data should not be remain hidden in Online Classic.

NOTE: In the images/screenshots/examples mentioned and/or the attached document, user details / company name / address / email / telephone number represent a fictitious sample (based upon made up data used in the Oracle Demo Vision instance). Any similarity to actual persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental and not intended in any manner.
