E-AWE: Approval Email Notifications Stopped Working After Applying FSCM PUM 49 on PT 8.58 Without Notification Composer (Doc ID 3014413.1)

Symptoms

All AWE approval processes stopped sending email notifications after applying FSCM 9.2 PUM 49. When submitting any type of approval (i.e. Requisitions, VoucherApproval, etc.), emails are not being sent. This behavior appears to be related to Notification Composer, which was introduced in PUM 49, but this feature isn't available in PeopleTools (PT) 8.58. Notification Composer requires PT 8.59 or later. However, none of the PeopleSoft documentation advised customers still on PT 8.58 not to apply PUM 49.

The Enable Notification Composer checkbox option (Navigation: Set Up Financials/Supply Chain > Install > Installation Options > Overall) was already disabled/unchecked. Notification settings has the Emails set to Yes/enabled for sending under PeopleTools > Push Notifications > Notification Window > Notification Configuration > Global Settings, as documented in Doc ID 2732816.1. But, after performing these steps, no emails are being delivered.

PeopleTools: 8.58.22
Application: FSCM 9.2 PUM Image 49

 

Sample Replication:

1. Submit any transaction for approval.
2. Observe that no email notifications are received.
