EPY: Exempt California Employee Retro Pay With Flat Sum Bonus Does Not Have Overtime Calculated (Doc ID 3016491.1)

Symptoms


When an employee in California has a Prior Period bonus, the Overtime Pay is not getting calculated for that bonus.

Recently Employee is moved from non-exempt to exempt Paygroup.
However, need to run an off-cycle bonus check for the prior (non-exempt) period while the employee is in the current payroll.

The Employee does have overtime hours for that prior period.



Steps to Reproduce

1. Setup:
 a) Navigate to Set Up HCM > Product Related > Payroll for North America > Payroll Processing Controls > Flat Sum Bonus Table
  - Ensure the bonus earnings code appears here
 b) Navigate to Set Up HCM > Product Related > Payroll for North America > Payroll Processing Controls > Overtime on Flat Sum Bonus Tbl
  - Ensure the Overtime code appears here.

2. Run at least one Pay period for an employee in a Non-exempt Paygroup
  - Ensure overtime is present

3. Transfer employee to an Exempt Paygroup

4. Create an off-cycle with Prior Period Bonus that is for the prior Paygroup.

  Payroll for North America > Payroll Processing USA > Update Paysheets > By Paysheet
  - Add a new Paysheet for an off-cycle pay
  - Enter the prior Paygroup and a Earnings Begin and End dates that coincide with the Employee being in the Prior Paygroup and that has overtime.
  - Enter a bonus that is in the Flat Sum Bonus setup

5. Run the pay calculation
  Payroll for North America > Payroll Processing USA > Produce Payroll > Calculate Payroll
  - No adjusted OT premium appears.
